Climate Smart Housing
Driving climate improvements into low- and moderate-income communities.
The brief
Climate Smart Housing is an initiative of Community Sustainability Partners and the Global Policy Leadership Academy, dedicated to bridging the gap between emerging green-building technologies and affordable housing construction. Through innovative financial and policy solutions, they work with local, state, national, and global partners to advance equitable climate investment into affordable and non-market rate private affordable housing.
This new report is aimed at state and local policymakers and practitioners interested in equitable decarbonization and applicable systems change solutions for their region.
The recipe
For this project we combined a number of source documents:
- a series of case studies that highlight various keys to success in driving energy funds into affordable housing,
- a multisector roadmap for equitable decarbonization of California’s affordable housing,
- an analysis of the funding gap between California’s climate goals and current investment in decarbonizing affordable housing, and
- a database of sustainability funding opportunities
into an integrated, interactive website. Readers can navigate the case studies by focusing on different keys to success, navigate the roadmap by following program and financing action steps, and search the interactive funding opportunities database for programs that match their criteria.
Accordions, modals and expanding lists keep dense content scannable without hiding depth.
Layouts adapt to phones, tablets and wide screens without losing hierarchy.
Site admins can see which sections and interactions readers open.
Does your organization produce toolkits or resource guides?
How much more engaging would they be if visitors could truly interact with your content instead of just downloading a PDF?
