Housing as a Pathway to Justice
Helping the housing industry better understand and serve the justice-impacted population.
The brief
This toolkit endeavors to educate the housing industry regarding the fundamental barriers, identify opportunities to improve equity for people with criminal convictions, and stay abreast of innovative approaches to address existing gaps in their support and opportunities.
The recipe
We combined
- 80 pages of narrative content,
- a spreadsheet survey of state and local laws, and
- a database of service providers
into an interactive toolkit with layered content that supports navigating, scanning, and filtering to help readers access the most relevant content quickly. In addition, as with all Report Kitchen sites, site admins get full analytics on what readers engage with, including opening layered content like accordions, modals, and expanding lists.

Accordions, modals and expanding lists keep dense content scannable without hiding depth.
Layouts adapt to phones, tablets and wide screens without losing hierarchy.
Site admins can see which sections and interactions readers open.
Does your organization produce toolkits or resource guides?
How much more engaging would they be if visitors could truly interact with your content instead of just downloading a PDF?
